The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for parts inventory, assembly, and packaging of locally produced products (degaussers and destruction devices). They must follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met. They maintain required records of production and report any inconsistencies or equipment issues following standard procedures.
Essential Functions:
Receiving, Packaging, Shipping
o Inspect, count and sort incoming parts and materials
o Troubleshoot parts inventory discrepancies
o Material routing
o Product packaging
o Product shipping
o Complete training and perform daily checklists for equipment used on site (ie. Forklift, manual and electric
pallet jacks, hoists, lift tables, etc.)
Assembly o Follow detailed schematics for assembly of degaussers and destruction devices
o Mechanical and Electromechanical subassembly
o Final assembly of products
Quality Assurance o Cross inspection of production
o Calibrate and maintain assemblies for proper function
o Final product testing
Workplace Safety o Follow all safety procedures and policies
Other duties as assigned by Director of IT and ManufacturingCompetencies
Technically orientated with strong desire for precision
Able to work within established systems, standards and procedures
Able to work with minimal supervision in a stable and repetitive environment
Must be a team player, self-motivated, dependable and dedicated
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
Effectively use computer hardware and software to plan work and manage projects
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost/benefits analysis to maximize the effective manufacture of products
Knowledge of hand tools and fastenersWork Environment
This job operates primarily on a manufacturing floor.
Physical Demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to walk or stand. The employee is occasionally required to bend, twist or reach as well as lift and/or move up to 75 lbs, carry up to 35 lbs for a distance up to 10 feet, push/pull up to 200 lbs and grip tools with a force up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision preferred and the ability to adjust focus between multiple tasks.

Availability
40 hours per week, must be available 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Flexible scheduling available once fully trained.
Required Education and Experience
A high school diploma or its equivalent with one to two years of experience in a manufacturing and/or production setting
Preferred Education and Experience
An Associates Degree in a comparable field with two to four years of experience in a manufacturing and/or production setting
