information.The primary purpose of this position is to develop, implement, and

administer the Information Security Program for an agency. The

employee is under the Chief of Information Protection (IP) and

responsible for ensuring all facilities, automated systems, and

contractor personnel meet required standards for Information

Serves information security program specialist

executing/enforcing all operational, functional, and mission

assurance aspects of the program. Formulates program goals,

plans, policy implementation guidelines.

Provides security guidance, training, and direction to a

civilian and military work force at wing organizations and

locations and serves as their wing representative for all

related Information Security issues.

Responsible for providing assistance to the Industrial and

Personnel Security Program Managers, as well as the IP Chief, to

ensure the three core Information, Personnel, and Industrial

security are fully converged for policy and (cont)

programmatic viewpoint to ensure overall information protection

requirements meet mission requirements.

Develops, with assistance of peer security specialist, Security

Awareness and Education Programs to satisfy security education

and training requirements for all assigned organizations.

DoD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification, and

are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD to

QualificationsIn order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience

requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)

Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,

Administrative and Management Positions.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1)

year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or

equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience

includes knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles,

and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve

difficult and complex security programs; apply policy direction to

contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance

for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and

methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or

degrees of security controls. NOTE: You must submit a copy of

EDUCATION: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of

progressively higher level grade education leading to such a degree

which demonstrated the knowledge, skills, ad abilities necessary to

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires agencies to

treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and

preference eligible, when they submit, at the time they apply for a

Federal job, a "certification" of active service in lieu of a DD214,

assuming the service member is otherwise eligible. A "certification"

letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of
