Responsibilities
  • Assist Architects in managing bidding and construction processes
  • Perform cost estimates for projects using Excel and MCACES software and Means Costs Guides
  • Issue Bidding Addendums to bidders
  • Assist Architects in interpreting contract terms in order to resolve disagreements between the parties involved in the construction process
  • Assist Architects in interpreting contract documents and issue necessary clarifications or modifications through ASI's, PR's, and Change Orders
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, samples, mock-ups, schedules and punch lists to conform with the intent of the design documents
  • Work with Construction Management software such as Submittal Exchange, ProCor, etc.
  • Coordinate and participate in preconstruction meetings with owners and contractors
  • Make periodic construction site inspections to check work in progress regarding design quality control, and materials sections and performance, as described in the contract documents
  • Resolve issue arising on construction sites and work with Architects to provide supplementary details and information when required
  • Assess contractor progress claims for payment and issue payment certificates
  • Assess contractor claims for variations to the project
  • Answer contractor general queries regarding the project
  • Provide clients with regular reports regarding construction time, cost and progress
  • Prepare punch lists prior to project completion
  • Review and approve contractor payment requests and change orders
  • Assist in assembling close out paperwork for construction projects
  • Obtain cost estimates from construction material vendors


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 + years Estimating and Contract Administration experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, standards and equipment
  • Ability to read, analyze & interpret documents, financial reports and technical documents
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Submittal Exchange, ProCor, Excel, MCACES software and Means Cost Guides
  • Team player, enthusiasm, people skills, etc
