AECOM is seeking a Control Room Lead/Construction Coordinator to oversee the daily activities and responsibilities of assigned shift personnel and shift duties within a 24/7/365 traffic operations control room.  As a secondary function, this position will also manage stakeholder coordination and response to roadway construction and maintenance events.  This position is responsible for ensuring strict compliance with standard operating procedures, quality control and personnel management.  Applicants will need to be professional, dependable, self-motivated, and possess prior experience overseeing a staff of 3 to 6 team members.  The qualified applicants will need to clearly demonstrate their knowledge of Nebraska’s Interstate and Arterial Road Network and basic proficiency with computer and communication systems.   Applicants will also need to confirm their willingness and ability to work in a 24/7/365 operating environment, which may include weekend, night and holiday shifts.This position is responsible for overseeing assigned shift personnel in the successful and timely execution of their duties in a fast-paced operational environment.  Position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive response plans for roadway construction and maintenance projects, as well as special events and all necessary coordination activities.  Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate prior experience in leading small teams to achieve assigned objectives, ensure compliance with detailed operating procedures, maintain high staff morale, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Control Room Leads execute their responsibilities from a Traffic Management Center (TMC), located in Omaha, Nebraska.  The environment is a technological hub for traffic operations, which uses a variety of different technologies for the purpose of enhancing safety and mobility. Other Responsibilities Include:Managing and logging traffic incidents in an advanced transportation management system software.Coordinating and dispatching incident response crews to incidents in a safe, timely and efficient manner.Detecting, confirming and tracking equipment failures affecting control room operations (e.g., central system, computers, CCTV cameras, digital message signs, etc.).Coordinating with local, regional, and statewide stakeholders on all control room activities by providing essential and timely incident information and status.Informing first responders of traffic related incidents involving injury and assisting with coordination of lane closures and diversion routes.Coordinating incidents (to include traffic signal system malfunctions) with local municipalities for resolution and information dissemination. Conduct periodic product audits to ensure procedural compliance and staff understanding.Oversee shift scheduling and compliance with attendance policies in conjunction with senior managers.Coordinate and track all assigned employee training for initial and recurrent training.Lead and/or participate in post-incident analysis.  Development of response plans in accordance with standard operating procedures.Maintenance and update of lane closure and restrictions report.  Messaging accuracy and timeliness.Monitoring and messaging for moving work crews.Data entry and tracking of construction and maintenance activities in ATMS.Maintenance and update of construction and maintenance contact lists.Monitoring construction and maintenance activities via CCTV.Work-zone message plans, preparation, distribution, and coordination.Attending construction and maintenance planning meetings.Preparing stakeholder communications for planned and unplanned road work as needed.Preparation of meeting minutes as needed.Post event analysis for any discrepancy between planned and actual events.  Prepare and disseminate advanced communications to affected stakeholders for upcoming special event activities to include all TMC staff and Highway Helper staff.Research and update as necessary a Special Events Calendar.  Coordinate special event planning meetings. Maintain and distribute special event key contact lists.Data entry of special events and associated response plans in ATMS.Deconflict any planned special events and planned road work events as needed.Maintain direct contact with venue personnel throughout special event planning and execution.  Responsible for preparing minutes from special event planning meetings (as requested).Preparation and facilitation of After-Action Review meetings as needed/requested.Maintain archive (binder, digital file) of special event coordination and response activities for future reference.Readily assume duties of Control Room Operator when needed to fill staffing shortages.Work Conditions:Controlled, indoor environment with dimmed lighting.Significant periods of sitting, CCTV camera viewing and data entry.Potential for public interaction.Monitored performance with routine evaluations.
