What You'll Do In The Senior Mechanical Engineer Role:

You will be responsible for leading and executing all aspects of engineering projects with high quality, accuracy, and timeliness in a positive, collaborative environment. They are the primary contact with clients and will be responsible for specific market sector management and business development. This role serves as a leader in the organization; they represent and elevate the firm in the marketplace, role model expectations, culture, and values to staff, and guide and develop the future leaders of our firm.
  • Performs monthly project billing and subconsultant coordination.
  • Participates in the development of proposals and fees as required.
  • Provides leadership in developing and implementing engineering quality.
  • Serves as a primary contact for clients as appropriate.
  • Acts as Project Manager on projects as appropriate.
  • Is involved in engineering work in all stages.
  • Ensures the preparation of accurate, complete, and quality work.
  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on projects as appropriate.
  • Conducts office's mechanical final quality control (QC) checks.
  • Helps with QC of specific specification sections.
  • Provides project close-out assistance on any project experiencing problems.
  • Interacts with all internal and external stakeholders as needed to facilitate resolution.
  • Assists with new business and market development for the firm to drive profitable business.
  • Establishes positive working relationships and engages in client maintenance activities to grow business.
  • Develops and implements client-focused and/or industry-focused educational programming that is of value to clients and contributes to achieving the firm's goals.
  • Provides review, guidance, and oversight to staff in all aspects of engineering (e.g. technical appropriateness and accuracy of engineering, report writing, and report production).
  • Collaborates with Principals, Resource Managers, and other stakeholders in establishing project teams.
  • Provides support, as needed, in ongoing assessments of individuals, and assists in providing training opportunities and mentoring.
  • Assists in the implementation of processes to ensure that employees are trained within technical disciplines.
  • Guides the office staff in collaboration and teamwork.
  • Responsible for the leadership of the office collaboratively with office
  • Represents the firm at negotiations as appropriate and in contract execution within defined limits, professional discussions, and business meetings.
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention activities to attract and retain the best talent in alignment with overall organizational efforts.

What You Need To Apply For The Senior Mechanical Engineer:
  • Registered Engineer (P.E.)
  • 15 years' design experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment and set and manage priorities
  • Excellent people skills and strong oral and written communication skills
