CARPENTER
Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
Job Duties and Tasks for: Carpenter
Carpenter will measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using tape, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
Carpenter must follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
Carpenter will verify trueness of structure, using plumb bob and a carpenter's level.
Carpenter will shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, saws, chisels, and planes.
Carpenter will study specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and dimensions and materials required.
Carpenter will assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue .
Carpenter erects framework for structures and lays subflooring.
Carpenter builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work.
Covers subfloor with building paper to keep out moisture and lays hardwood parquet and wood-strip block floors by nailing floors to subfloor or cementing them to mastic or asphalt base.
Applies shock absorbing, sound deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls.
Carpenter fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, letter drops, and kick plates.
Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
Manage own time effectively, ensuring a maximum amount of productivity.
Ensure the safety of work crew at all times.
Need to have own tools and transportation.
