Job Description:
Through education and driving skills development, become member of our driver team. We will train you to become a proficient, professional and well trained Residential Driver while helping you obtain your Commercial Driver License (CDL). Start your employment with on the job training, working with one of our seasoned Driver Trainers and upon successful completion of the program, transition into the role of a CDL Residential Driver.
Duties & Responsibilities: While in training you will learn the following skills. The trainee must be able to demonstrate proficiency prior to moving to the next driver level.
Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Able to complete pre- & post-trip inspections.
Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service related issues to route manager or dispatch.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 45-50 hour work week.

Work Environment:
Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a vehicle.
Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, which require following basic safety precautions.
The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements:
Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Learners Permit with air-brake endorsement
Hold a current medical examiners card
Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- & post-trip inspections
At least 21 years of age
Complete a pre-employment drug screen
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
Legally Eligible to work in the United States
Good driving record and verifiable work history
