PS Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Union Pacific Railroad, has an exciting senior management opportunity available in the Sales and Marketing group. Ideal candidates will have strong marketing, sales, leadership and communication skills. The Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales provides leadership, direction, and resource stewardship to PS Technology’s sales and business development function.
This role is accountable for overall sales performance and for aligning sales objectives with company’s business strategy. The SVP Sales reports to the President of PST. Technical Knowledge: Expertise in software sales and marketing and in sales leadership. Conceptual knowledge of mission critical software systems in the transportation/logistics space. Managerial Knowledge: Demonstrated subject-matter expertise of techniques in the areas of leadership, time management, interpersonal skills and people management. Incumbent is qualified to transfer knowledge to the rest of the organization. Freedom to Act: Determines how and when results will be achieved. Influences policy.
Accountabilities

  • Provides leadership to the marketing and sales organization, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior.
  • Build a collaborative, high-performing team and support their professional growth and development.
  • Maintains sales volume and selling price by keeping current with changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Completes sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains sales staff job results by counseling and performance managing employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Provides tactical and strategic territory, account, and opportunity leadership to multiple Account Executives who report to them.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending industry events; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Meets or exceeds targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.
  • Leads sales organization change initiatives by continuously assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives, and removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational change.
  • Establishes and maintains productive relationships with customers and prospects.
  • Creation of new business and partnership opportunities that deliver on growth and sales objectives.
  • Define the growth plan, and create and implement programs to identify, launch, manage and optimize revenue opportunities.
  • Keeps abreast of industry developments including, but not limited to changes in regulations and technology.
  • Works across the organization and identifies opportunities to collaborate and share ideas across business units to improve scale and outcome.
QualificationsRequired
  • A Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
  • 10 or more years of work experience
Preferred
  • A Master of Business Administration degree
  • 15+ years of sales leadership experience in a software sales environment
  • Skills to coach and assist reporting reps in relationship and benefit stream selling to “C” Level prospects, ability to understand business flow and articulate software benefits stream to prove out a return on investment.
  • A sense of urgency with the ability to communicate it to the team
  • Strong people management skills and experience
  • A proven track record of successful revenue-driving partnerships, creative deal making, and effective relationship management
  • A proven track record designing, shaping, and driving go-to-market strategies in the enterprise software space Specifically, expertise building/launching successful B2B SaaS products/suites.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to work with a prospect from cold call to close
  • Strong customer focused mentality
