Part-time help (8-12 hrs/wk) needed around our home and property year-round. Must have a good heart, a strong and honest work ethic, and a sense of humor. Must be self-motivated, as much of the work is done solo.
Must also be comfortable around horses, chickens, dogs, and cats – and enjoy working primarily outside all four seasons.
Job duties will vary from week-to-week and season-to-season, but will include:
Around the property:
> Feeding horses and chickens
> Keeping barn area, tack room and coops clean/tidy/organized
> Miscellaneous gardening and weeding projects
> Occasional errands such as: picking up feed, filling gas cans, retrieving boxes from our office in Gunbarrel (we have a truck available for this)
Around the house:
> Cleaning outdoor kitchen, bathroom, furniture, and patio around pool
> Cleaning front porch, driveway, fountain
> Weeding planter beds
> Occasional light housekeeping assistance
> Taking care of trash and recycling
> Helping with various holiday and event prep
Occasional House Sitting requires:
> Staying overnight every day we are away (we have a nice ensuite bedroom available for this)
> Feeding the dogs, cat, horses, and chickens each morning and evening
> Keeping the house clean
> Chatting a bit with “Grandpa” perhaps. He lives with us, but rarely travels anymore. He still drives and can take care of himself, so “elder care” isn’t required. But he can’t manage all the critters and household responsibilities himself – and we aren’t comfortable with him being home alone overnight when we’re away.
The job isn’t glamorous. It isn’t always easy and is rarely exciting. But it is a calm, peaceful, feel good place to work. And those who work for us are always greatly appreciated. They also become part of our family and tend to stay with us a long time.
