We're one of the world’s leading designers, manufacturers and distributors of clean air and powertrain technology products for the automotive, commercial truck and off-highway, and large engine markets as well as the aftermarket.We serve our customers from manufacturing facilities and engineering and technical centers around the world, delivering advanced technologies, quality products, powerful brands and outstanding engineering and manufacturing capabilities.Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivated engineering student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience working at our fast paced Clean Air Manufacturing Center located in Seward, NE.NOTE: This position is available for Full-time if schedule allows, or Part-Time if schedule requires.The Engineering Intern role supports engineering and provides hands on practical experience and exposure to continuous improvement tools and processes. Additionally, the Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to interact with engineers, engineering and manufacturing leaders, project leaders, technicians, and cross-functional project stakeholders on a daily basis.As an Engineering Intern YOU will:Be assigned a Mentor to guide, support and coach you throughout your internship experience at Tenneco.Receive relevant field experience in the area of manufacturing engineering.Be given project assignments aimed at improving shop floor processes. The projects will involve assessing productivity related processes.Required Skills:Must be able to work in a Team based environment.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.Effective time management skills.Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.REQUIREMENTS:Student currently enrolled and pursuing an engineering degree (Associate or Bachelor’s) at an accredited institution.Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.Ability to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship period.Student who resides within a commutable distance of the job site (Seward, Nebraska).Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site (Seward, Nebraska).Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:Student pursuing an undergraduate engineering degree focused on the following engineering majors: automotive, automotive technology, industrial and manufacturing systems, manufacturing, manufacturing technology, materials / metallurgical, mechanical, mechanical technology, mechatronics, robotics, technology or welding.Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.Student with experience with design / tools.Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
