Join our company and be part of an innovative team that’s First in Food.POSITION SUMMARY:This person is responsible for sewing and stacking bags of inedible product. Verifying weight of finished product. Maintaining clean environment. Operate forklift and pallet jack. Pull product samples. Follow all safety procedures and GMP's.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform moisture testing as directed and keep dryer operator informed of any and all changes.
Pull product samples for moisture, chem lab and micro lab.
Operates and oversees densifier equipment
Operate forklift and pallet mover.
Maintain standard of cleanliness of work area
Responsible for confirming and verifying final weights of finished products
Responsible for proper sealing and labeling of finished product containers
Stack finished product on pallets
Assist in maintaining cleanliness/sanitation of all warehouse/rack areas.
Assist dryer operator with dryer sanitation.
Assist and communicate with dryer operator to maintain proper finished goods moistures.
Maintain all required documentation. Examples: moisture chart, metal detector, sifter cks, SAP tag logs, etc
Some basic maintenance.
Maintain cleanliness of all production package areas, i.e., bulk loading bay, tote scale, bag packaging, etc
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
Knowledge of basic dryer operation
Be able to obtain a forklift and pallet mover operator’s license.
Communicate effectively
Basic computer skills necessary
Ability to stand on hard surface most of shift
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 60 lbs for 8 feet
Ability to climb steps and ladders
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to work in warm, noisy and sometimes dusty environment.
Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
Must be able to obtain a LOTO, Confined Space, and respirator certification
