Join our company and be part of an innovative team that’s First in Food.POSITION SUMMARY: Lead Person is responsible for working with the department supervisor. S/he will train new and existing personnel, help ensure a safe work environment and assign work tasks to department personnel.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in training of all processing and production personnel in assigned department. Assists supervisor in updating training for existing personnel whenever equipment changes are instituted, or new procedures are implemented.

Helps ensure a safe work environment for all personnel.

Helps ensure employees comply with food safety standards and GMPs as established by Michael Foods, Inc.

Works with supervisor(s) to help maintain sanitation standards of facility.

Assigns work tasks to department personnel.

Assists with safety audits.

Helps maintain control records related to processing, including but not limited to production records and safety inspections.

Maintains effective working relationship between members of department and other areas.

Continually monitors lines for quality product and notifies all appropriate personnel if discrepancy is found.

Follows all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.

Follows SOP (Sanitation Operating Procedures), SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and assists with keeping records updated

Follows USDA and FDA regulations and guidelines.

Monitors processing equipment on a continual basis to maintain proper production standards.

Reports and fills out notifications for maintenance issues as they relate to productivity, food safety, quality and human safety.

Encourages suggestions from employees to improve productivity, quality or control cost of production.

Maintains accurate downtime records and daily shift report of all equipment in assigned area.

Accurately and timely completes daily paperwork, SAP (System Applications Product in Data Processing),PEB and Bill of Lading as needed.

Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

Must obtain forklift and pallet jack operator license.

Complete and maintain current First Aid/CPR training.

Must be willing and able to work overtime, alternate shift and weekends as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.

Must have effective English communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.

Must have effective leadership skills including being organized, self-motivated, willing to learn, willing and able to effectively train and share information.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Must have basic math skills.

Must have basic computer skills (excel, word, etc)

Ability to analyze problems and find solutions.

Previous forklift and/or pallet jack experience desired.
