The drive to excel and thrive in an engaged, collaborative environment?Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Consultant to join our Mining Team in a Full-Time position at either our Reno or Elko, Nevada office, reporting to the Mine Water US Group Leader. This individual will have a proven track record in delivering services to the mining industry related to hydrogeologic characterization, feasibility studies, environmental permitting, water rights, mine dewatering, and injection and well testing. The candidate will also have substantial experience in and technical expertise related to operational mine water management and deep groundwater investigations.Your primary responsibilities will include:

Lead hydrogeological, geological, and geotechnical studies related to mine water management projects.

Direct and oversee field work, including site characterization, drilling supervision, well installation and maintenance, hydraulic testing, and water quality sampling.

Provide technical guidance on operational water management, including dewatering studies and operations, and analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling in support of geotechnical stability.

Design and manage complex mine water management studies and programs involving the collection of hydrogeological field data and data interpretation/evaluation.

Prepare technical reports and develop proposals.

Work collaboratively with other senior members of the group to implement the business growth strategy.

Develop and maintain relationships with a broad internal and external client base.

Mentor junior and intermediate staff.

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, or similar program.

Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in the mining sector.

Experience in Nevada and on Nevada mine sites.

Professional Geologist or Engineer designation, or ability to obtain registration, in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

A flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and demanding work environment.

Willingness to travel for periods of up to 3 weeks at a time.

Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, writing and people skills.

Preferred:

Graduate degree or post-graduate level knowledge of hydrogeological concepts.

Experience in consulting.

Experience with the operation and troubleshooting of hydrogeological testing equipment including pneumatic and hydraulic tools, and electronics.

Strong field and laboratory skills, with demonstrated applications of hydrogeological principles, quantitative hydrogeology and/or geotechnical testing.

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), MODFLOW, GIS, geological modeling, geochemical modeling, etc.

40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training.

MSHA open pit new miner training.
