Ride Operator

Position Summary:
Responsible for critical operations and interactions with our guests. To provide a safe and entertaining atmosphere assisting guests with harnessing, connection, and removal (including inspection and adjustments) for participants and team members while they are in the Attraction. Providing attentive customer service, engaging the guests so each and every patron is treated as special participants in this unique one-of-a-kind environment high above the Las Vegas Strip, while creating a desire for them to happily return, telling their amazing stories to friends and family.
Essential Duties and Requirements:
Oversees the safety and harnessing of all guests who ride the Attraction. This includes inspection of harnesses and making adjustments for maximum safety and comfort while riding the Zipline. Connecting guests onto the Zip Lines, double checking the connections (trolley and harness) of each patron.
The Ride Operator is responsible for the safety of all guests, themselves, team members and other employees at ALL TIMES. Securing all decks and platforms for closing hours.
The Ride Operator also continually works to improve the ride cycle times which reduce the wait times for all patrons.
RIDE OPERATORS ARE TRAINED IN ALL RIDE OPERATIONAL AREAS - Greeting & Weighing, Harnessing, Launch Operations and Landing Deck Operations.
Other Duties Include
Loading of Trolleys, Harnesses and Flight Bags into cable driven Aerial Gear Retrieval Unit on landing platform
Removal of Trolleys, Harnesses and Flight Bags into cable driven Aerial Gear Retrieval Unit on landing platform
Use of an electronic scale, verify guest meet the safe weight requirements (Over 60lbs. / Under 300 lbs.)
Verify guests are not overly intoxicated and thus unable to safely ride the Zipline
Safely assist guests with the donning of their zipline harnesses
Inspect guest harnesses and insure they are worn and adjusted correctly
Load guests by trolley onto the zip line cables and safely inspect the proper alignment and readiness for their
safe travel down the zip line cable
Inform guests of critical safety instructions
Double check operational partner's loaded zipline riders for safe connection (double swap checks).
Enable and dispatch guest from automatic control panels
Reset the automatic controls after the guest have safely launched
Continue the repetitive actions necessary to cycle guests as fast as safely possible while maintaining a high level
of guest service and interaction
Unload guests from cable and by trolley, escort to safe zone for unharnessing
Verify landing platform ready to safely receive guests from automatic control panels
Verify and reset the automatic controls after guest have safely landed
During morning operational checks, be able to safely load fellow ride operations crew member(s) onto the zipline
and dispatch for per-opening operational checks as well as be able to be loaded onto the zipline yourself,
performing and verifying that the ride is ready, safe to receive guests for opening.
During morning operational checks clean all platforms, staircases and handrails as needed
Upon nightly shutdown, remove any trash and secure platforms for maintenance.
Qualifications
Ability to effectively communicate in a friendly, courteous manner with guests, other employees, management
and the general public; in person and speak clearly over a two-way radio to other team members
Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups
Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, late hours as the Attraction is operating 365 days per year with
hours extending past midnight
Must be able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
Position Requirements
Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach 6'8" with hands and arms.
Requires working long periods while standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling or walking.
Will encounter material and equipment operating at high temperatures, speeds, and frequencies
Environmental Conditions
Exposure to high intensity noise.
Work conditions will expose person to natural elements.
Work on scaffolding or other elevated platforms up to 130 feet.
