Cloud Solution Architect (AWS)
Client location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Specific skills or “technical skills”:
• Hands on in AWS services and some Azure
• Good background in Linux/Unix administration.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Hands on experience with VPC, ECS
or EKS in the past
• Proficiency in the languages from the stack (CDK) - Python, Java, C#/. Net
• Strong notions of security best practices (e.g. using IAM Roles, KMS, etc.).
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and
the ELK stack.
• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems.
• Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or
Terraform.
• Experience with building or maintaining cloud-native applications.
• Past experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda is a plus.
For example, the Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM).
Responsibilities:
• Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application
deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Design and implement innovative AWS architectures and environments
• Play a key role in migrating and transforming legacy solutions to the cloud
• Design Native Cloud Application Architectures and optimize applications for
AWS
• Set up a monitoring stack.
• Define service capacity planning strategies.
• Implement the application’s CI/CD pipeline using the AWS CI/CD stack.
• Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or similar.
• Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in
deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful
deployment in the cloud
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to
customers considering or already using AWS
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge among AWS Solution Architect
Community
• Author and/or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as
white papers

• Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals
within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
• Work Side by Side with Enterprise Architect, Business users and support team
Educational background: Grad from CS/ EE or Eng. Equivalent
