Unlock your potential here!POSITION SUMMARY:The Clinical Data Abstractor, under the direction of the Vice President of Quality, is responsible for the abstraction of clinical data from a patient’s medical record and input into an electronic database for summary analysis, public reporting and/or research registry use. The Abstractor shall demonstrate an attention to detail, accuracy in abstracting clinical information and proficiency in the required data abstraction tools. The Abstractor must have the ability to accurately interpret data definitions and communicate both verbally and in writing the core measure variances to VP of Quality.The Abstractor will enter clinical data or information into electronic data bases, or registries, or other abstraction software. They will track and validate data accuracy and timeliness in accordance with HCA policies and procedures; and perform quality assurance tasks such as inter rater reliability (IRR) and validation tasks as assigned. They will communicate medical record status and key project issues to management as needed, be familiar with medical terminology and basic medical record design and requirements. The individual will utilize basic computer skills, to include the navigation of several electronic databases (Horizon Patient Folder—HPF, MEDITECH, EXCEL, Lumedx Apollo Advance, Analytics Manager, DRCI, NCDR, AHA GWTG, etc.).If you are looking for an opportunity that provides satisfaction and personal growth, we encourage you to apply. EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree in Nursing required OR enrollment in BSN program within 12 months or hire/promotion, with completion within 3 years required
EXPERIENCE:
3 years recent experience in acute care/critical care and/or Cardiovascular fields required.
Previous data abstraction experience preferred.
Previous computer experience required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Registered Nurse, licensed in State of Nevada
