High Altitude Fitness is now accepting applications for the position of Youth Climbing Coordinator for its Incline Village, NV facility. We are a full health club and climbing facility with 3,000 feet of vertical climbing.

Job Overview

You will oversee, design, and facilitate the program and operations of the Youth Climbing Club, camps, events and competitions. A successful director will create a positive environment and relationships among coaches, climbers and parents. This position requires strong communication skills.

Schedule

Must be available for the after school youth club each week and designated office hours for program planning, youth camps (spring and summer). Hours available per week vary depending on applicant, 15-20 per week at a minimum. Additional hours available if in other departments.

Responsibilities and Duties

Staff Management

- Train and supervise coaches and employees.

- Provide training and continuing educations for Youth Climbing coaches.

- Create a positive, fun work and learning environment for the staff and climbers.

- Evaluate the performance of staff and coaches

Program design and facilitation

- Initially coach and direct all new programming, with the intention of developing a team of assistants

Design and execute programs.

- Ensure that all climbers are participating in a fun, healthy and safe environment.

- Collect feedback from parents and coaches for programs

- Coordinate with Marketing/Sales manager to promote all programs

- Manage Sales and meet sales goals for climbing related programs

Communication

- Meet with coaches and parents for feedback and communicate about upcoming program events/needs.

- Communication with parents.

- Create staff schedules and event schedules.

- Hold meetings with parents and coaches to communicate about program needs, upcoming events, and to allow for questions or concerns.

Qualifications: A preferred candidate will have these qualifications:

- 21+ years old

- Bachelor Degree preferred but not required.

- Previous experience working with children.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Understanding of climbing techniques and ability to teach them in engaging and creative ways.

- Patient, enthusiastic, encouraging, and able to motivate and inspire.

- First Aid & CPR is required.

- Must be physically able to climb and participate in camp and climbing activities.
