We are a well established General Engineering Contracting Company specializing in grading, paving, concrete and underground utilities. Currently we have a number of projects in which we need personnel to help keep these on schedule and under budget.
Estimator/PM Assistant will be responsible for estimating constructions costs, obtaining sub-contractor bids, and supplier quotes to create a final project proposal.
Responsibilities:
Project bidding:
Client development and Client relations.
Locate projects to bid, organizing bid documents, as well as proposal documents. Perform project take-off via electronic means and methods. Assist with creating pre-bid schedules, and technical write-ups. Sourcing suppliers and sub-contractors, acting as a liaison maintaining communication between all companies to ensure correct and competitive pricing.
Project Execution:
Create schedules, budgets, submittal packages prior to project kickoff. Maintain and keep project management software up to date. Prepare down-stream sub-contracts and PO's. Source and organize material pricing. Manage project budgets. Prepare and send reports to management and clients. Create 2-week look ahead schedules. Manage subcontractors, materials, labor, and productivity to ensure profitable and sustainable projects.

MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Microsoft project
Read and understand drawings and specs
Read and understand scopes of work
Education / Experience:
BA degree and 4 years of experience is preferred, not required
Formal training in estimating is preferred.
Underground utility estimating experience
Civil estimating experience
