TransportDistribution SpecialistRequisition id: 148521Department: 770701 Materiel SolutionsFacility: Materiel SolutionsSchedule: Full TimeShift: DayCategory: Services & TradesLocation: Reno,NVPosition Purpose:Under the supervision of the Distribution Manager, the Distribution /Transportation Specialist is responsible for the receipt, storage, loading and unloading, distribution of mail, medical and operational supplies to all Renown Health entities using company vehicles and equipment. This position is responsible for transporting and ensuring quality of customer orders in compliance with internal policies, safety standards and schedule timelines. The incumbent prepares outgoing items for shipment; helps provide pickup, storage and retrieval of medical records. Must be proficient in the use of the Materials Management and Archive Manager computer systems related to job responsibilities, ability to safely, and efficiently, operate all vehicles and equipment within OSHA, state, federal and Renown guidelines. Shares responsibility in the value and integrity of the Distribution center inventory.Nature and Scope:The incumbent receives and accurately delivers all supplies, medical record transactions and mail deliveries to customers of Materiel Solutions. The incumbent must pay special attention to items requiring special handling or refrigeration to ensure the integrity of the product delivered to the customer.This position is responsible for the receipt and proper documentation of all supplies, mail, and medical records. This position is also required to execute supply, mail deliveries, returns, and outgoing shipments of items and medical records via materials mgmt. computer system, hand held terminal and Archive Manager.This position is responsible for the proper packaging and shipping of items being delivered to customers or returned to vendors. This position has the authority and responsibility to determine priority of items received and dispersed.The incumbent is required to safely operate all company owned vehicles and equipment. Incumbent must follow all state, federal, OSHA, and Renown Health policies, laws and regulations associated with the operation or transportation of medical supplies and equipment.Trains new staff in the use of equipment and vehicles (e.g. delivery trucks/lift gate, reach truck, pallet rider, cherry picker, and software applications) for the safe and proper use of each.Must display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards achieving Materiel Solutions goals.This position does not provide patient care.The foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job. It is intended to be an accurate reflection of the general nature and level of the job.Minimum Qualifications:Requirements – Required and/or PreferredEducation:Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.Experience:Must have one year of Experience in the Distribution /Transportation industryLicense(s):Valid State of Nevada or California driver’s license and ability to pass Renown Health’s Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.Certification(s):Computer / Typing:Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
