Located on the beautiful north shore of Lake Tahoe, the Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) is hiring a Utilities Maintenance Specialist to contribute to our community.
This position coordinates the completion of complex water and wastewater system maintenance, repair, replacement and capital improvement projects. This includes the maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and replacement of mechanical, electrical and control equipment in water and wastewater pumping stations and the water and wastewater treatment plants.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six years of journey level experience performing water distribution, collection system, water and wastewater treatment maintenance and construction work; including three years as lead/foreman or one year as a supervisor/superintendent over a utility construction workgroup installing and maintaining same or similar activities.
Work in a self-directed work environment. Must be self-motivated and show a high level of initiative. Available for and able to evaluate emergency callouts. Good supervisory, organizational, analytical, customer service, record keeping and technical training skills in electrical/mechanical applications required, together with computer skills for Microsoft Office, Excel, budget/accounting management and maintenance management. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, technical design/as-built plans and diagrams, specifications or governmental regulations. Effectively present information (in-person/written) and respond to questions from employees, managers, customers and the public. Deal courteously and efficiently with the public,
and maintain a friendly and composed presence. Deal with changing circumstances in a positive manner. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, electrical resistance, and mechanical vibration analysis. Calculate monthly rental rates and work order changes. Possess a valid Driver’s License. May require within one year from the date of notice a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Certification in PM Mechanical Technologist from California Water Environmental Association (CWEA), Structural and Pipeline Welding Certifications from the American Welding Society and/or the American Society of Mechanical Engineers are a plus. Able to lift and/or move 50 to 100 pounds.
Salary $87,226 - $122,117/yr. incl. health insurance, retirement, paid vacation/sick, food/beverage discount and recreation privileges at District venues. Position is OPEN UNTIL FILLED. EOE
