Behavior Technician for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Reno/Sparks)

We are seeking genuine, caring, enthusiastic individuals interested in helping children reach their full potential. Prior experience working with children and/or individuals with special needs is preferred. Interest in psychology, education, special education, speech pathology, or a related field is a plus. Afternoon and weekend availability is preferred (but some children may have some morning availability). Hours vary from 6-20 hours per week. Hourly rate may be higher depending on experience.

Technicians will be trained to provide intensive 1:1 instruction to children with autism based on researched practices in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Technicians will target language, social, play, and academic skills while decreasing undesirable behaviors. Technicians will be taught data collection methods and will assist a supervisor in making data-based treatment decisions based on child progress. Technicians will be part of a larger treatment team including the child, parents and other family members, other Technicians, teachers and other professionals, and a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA)/Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
