VETERINARY ASSISTANT
VETERINARY ASSISTANT NEEDED FOR BUSY PRACTICE IN SOUTH RENO.
Responsibilities include assisting veterinarian and licensed personnel in daily veterinary clinic procedures, which include patient prep, along with restraining and appropriate handling of cats and dogs, and subsequent care for each patient. The Veterinary Assistant also assists with in-house lab tests and is responsible for maintaining general cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the veterinary hospital. Additional responsibilities include assistance with answering phones, scheduling appointments, and invoice preparation.
The Veterinary Assistant must have an outgoing personality capable of greeting clients and their pets by name, while sometimes handling unexpected situations, like unruly or sick and debilitated pets.
Assistance in showing pets to exam rooms and leading them back to the kennel area would also be required, so experience with dogs and cats, and the confidence that accompanies it, is critical.
Veterinary Assistants shall be proactive, a problem solver and take initiative.
Computer skills, with a working knowledge of Word and Excel, are a must.
There is also a program specific to the business that will need to be learned.
The ideal candidate has a professional demeanor and is proficient in customer relations with experience in dealing with people in a variety of situations and possesses effective communication skills.
And, of course, Must Love Dogs and Cats.
Part Time Position.
