JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a part-time music leader (we consider our senior pastor to be our worship leader)
who will continue to grow and improve the music ministry. The primary responsibilities will be
to enhance the music at both of our 8am (small, traditional, hymns) & 10am (contemporary)
worship services by strengthening this ministry through Christ-centered, mindful leadership and
motivation. This person will be directly accountable to the Pastor with the Session serving as
additional support to ensure that our music supports the overall worship experience for the
congregation. The Music Leader will serve not only as a musical director but also as a shepherd
to the people who serve in this important ministry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We seek someone who:
1. Is a Godly person of integrity with a strong sense of calling and identity in Christ.
2. Will provide leadership, vision, and passion in the area of our music ministry that is in line
with the overall vision, purpose, and mission of our church.
3. Will create and implement new ways to use music in growing people’s faith. The
development of a children’s music program for the Preschool and Sunday School is an
example.
4. Will coordinate and work with the Pastor to assist with leading two well-planned and
engaging Sunday morning worship services. This also includes but is not limited to
recruiting and developing a solid worship team, working with the Pastor in selecting the
music, scheduling special music through soloists and instrumentalists, and retooling other
vocal and instrumental ensembles.
5. Will organize and lead mid-week and Sunday morning rehearsals.
6. Is proficient in digital sound equipment including a working knowledge of a digital mixer,
monitors, wireless microphones, worship software, streaming technology.
6. Is proficient in leading worship with a strong vocal ability. Capability of playing a guitar
and/or keyboard is a requirement.
7. Is willing to participate in planning, implementing, and leading the music ministry for
special events outside of the regularly scheduled Sunday worship services. And, when
available, perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION:
Approximately 20 hours weekly. Hourly wage: depending on experience.
