The League to Save Lake Tahoe (League) is searching for a skilled environmental policy and law expert that is a highly motivated, strategic thinker and excited to guide the Leagues advocacy efforts to Keep Tahoe Blue. The Policy Director (Director), has legal and policy campaign experience, specifically in programs designed to protect, restore and advocate for the health of the environment. The Director is also an experienced supervisor who will lead a policy team of science, planning and policy professionals by strategizing and implementing targeted campaigns and programs to achieve outcomes to protect the clarity and improve water quality of Lake Tahoe.
As the Leagues Policy Director, you will lead the policy team and conduct environmental analysis, research and assistance with federal, state and local advocacy. You will serve as the staff liaison to the board legal committee and provide support with policy related legal matters and correspondence with outside attorneys. This role leads the protection of the Leagues Trademark and advises the senior management team on legal matters.
The ideal candidate has a law degree, is solutions-oriented and is well versed in environmental negotiations of contentious issues. We need a positive and enthusiastic leader inspired to work for one of the worlds premiere environmental organizations, known by its iconic slogan Keep Tahoe Blue. You will be working as part of a fun and successful team of scientists, environmental educators, community engagers, policy analysts, fundraisers and administrative professionals.
