Position Description:
We have an opening for a Senior Project Manager and Network Engineer who is highly skilled at providing excellent customer service and technical expertise in small to medium sized business environments. The appropriate candidate will provide in depth systems administration, project management, IT consulting, and technical support to multiple clients across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee multiple technical projects simultaneously, assisting with their implementation, scheduling, and customer communication
- Provide network and server administration, technical support, and IT consultation to multiple clients
- Understand client business needs and identify outstanding issues within existing infrastructure
- Recommend well researched solutions to make client operations more efficient
- Ensure that client infrastructure is healthy, stable, and configured with accepted IT best practices
- Stay abreast of client needs at all times, and address those needs with appropriate urgency
- Communicate constantly with co-workers and clients to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded
- Other responsibilities, as required
Required Skills:
- Firewall support and configuration
- Switch configuration, installation and troubleshooting including VLAN and QoS
- Router installation, configuration and troubleshooting as well as associated WAN technologies
- Advanced Server hardware and associated technologies
- Server OS installation, configuration and troubleshooting (Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, Active Directory, Corporate Antivirus, etc.)
- Virtualization with VMware or Hyper-V platforms
- Strong infrastructure troubleshooting skills and techniques to solve complex issues
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills, experience in a professional work environment, and ability to take responsibility for supporting multiple applications and network environments
- Very strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills
- Produce appropriate documentation for application deployment, configuration, and related processes
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for the environment
Professional Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience in an IT support environment with relevant industry experience
- Proven successful project management and troubleshooting in a highly technical IT environment
- Thorough knowledge of IT best practices
- Computer Science Degree and/or Industry Certifications preferred
