ProTechnical is seeking a part-time Purchasing Agent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and diverse knowledge with IT solutions.
This opportunity lends itself to a person who is studying to be an IT professional whether it be self-study or formal. An understanding of software and hardware is more important that practical knowledge of same. For example, for this opportunity we are more concerned with an individual understanding what a network switch does as opposed to having the knowledge to program a network switch.
The position requires an independent thinker who is meticulous and organized with his or her workflows. The role directly services the technical staff who rely upon having the correct technologies ordered and received so that they may complete their work in a timely manner.
Daily tasks range from communications with vendors, researching best sources for technologies, negotiating costs and terms, along with receiving and inventorying technologies. This is a weekday opportunity with flexible hours and while posted as part-time, a full-time position may come of it for just the right candidate having a skill set that lends itself to other areas within the company.
