The Copyright Officer supports the institution through maintaining and enhancing copyright and intellectual property framework, policies and processes to ensure the University of Auckland’s compliance with the Copyright Act 1994.
In this role, you will proactively identify and monitor legislative, policy and best practice developments and trends that may impact the University, initiate strategies to respond to them and advise on copyright standards and permission on the use of licences. This role offers an opportunity to draw upon your strong collaboration and communication skills and your experience in providing specialist advice and training to make complex content easy to understand and apply.
This role is the primary liaison within the University and with the Universities New Zealand and the external community in matters relating to its copyright and intellectual property programme.
The Copyright Officer also supports the New Zealand university sector with a range of copyright activities:
Law degree.
We are looking for someone with strong experience working with current New Zealand copyright legislation and its implementation in a large organisation with related experience managing copyright policy and practice.
Having worked with senior stakeholders in a corporate, university or large organisation, your communication and negotiation skills will be required to influence and manage effectively at all business levels.
You will operate with energy and passion, demonstrate a collaborative approach to work well with others, and model best practice principles and behaviours.
