Seeking a capable, conscientious and personable individual to live onsite at a beautiful, historical building and manage five apartments as well as the year-round upkeep of the building and grounds.
This opportunity offers a chance for a dedicated person to invest care, pride and stewardship into one of the town's most iconic buildings. Our home has been maintained beautifully over the years, our tenants are quiet, respectful and long-term, and it is the kind of lovely place to settle into and live peacefully. The ideal candidate will value communication, follow-through, trust, and pride-of-place as much as we do.
In return for managing the property, you will have a sunny, recently renovated one bedroom apartment with many unique and beautiful details, opportunities for gardening, and much more. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who already has a full-time or part-time job but can do administrative tasks (bill paying, rent deposits, etc.) during the week and put time in on the weekends for bigger projects (coordinating with service providers, etc.). Being immediately responsive to calls/emails from tenants as well as to any emergency repairs is a must.
If you are interested in this opportunity, well want to discuss your previous experience with:
-Maintaining buildings and grounds in any capacity, from homeowner or caretaker to contractor or other professional.
-Soliciting bids and hiring providers for services including painting, plumbing, electrical, well, septic system, plowing, landscaping and trash removal.
-Bookkeeping and administrative responsibilities.
-Daily/weekly upkeep, such as sweeping common areas, changing lightbulbs, checking that doors are secure, furnaces are working, tenants are happy, and all the other little details of a well-run operation.
