Maine Drilling & Blasting has a safety opportunity based out of our Auburn, NH, location.
The Pre-Blast Safety Specialist is responsible for compliance with regulatory agencies, pre-blast surveys and public relations, loss control and investigation of accident and property damage.
Responsibilities :
Monitor and assure compliance with company safety policies
Monitor and assure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements
Coordinate, promote and conduct all regional public relations and public safety education activities
Responsible for performing required pre-blast surveys of local homes, businesses, private and public properties.
Responsible for claims investigation activities
Represents the company relative to claims negotiations to minimize loss
Assist with safety programs & safety training as required
Meetings:
Assist with monthly company wide safety meetings and other Safety related meetings
Represent Maine Drilling & Blasting at public meetings
Assist with the Company's Annual Safety Training
Qualifications:
MSHA/OSHA knowledge and/or certification
Solid understanding of insurance practices relative to claims and loss handling
Claims adjusting education and experience desired.
Written and oral communications skills
Computer literacy/spreadsheet knowledge
Public Speaking experience
Self-starter with hands-on experience
Out of town/overnight travel required
Job Requirements:
Ability to perform essential functions of the position
Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. 15% of the time
Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions or environments
Stooping and bending 15% of the time
Comments:
Position will assist with Company safety programs and assisting with safety training requirements and the incumbent must be proficient in public relations.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings and E-Verify.
