ABOUT US
The Portsmouth Escape Room is an interactive live adventure game in which a group of people find hidden clues and solve puzzles in order to escape the room within one hour.
ABOUT THE JOB
This is a part-time position perfect for people who enjoy a fun atmosphere and love interacting with large groups of customers. In this position you will work 12 - 20 hrs a week depending on your availability (maybe more if you are available every day). Saturday and Sundays are a must. Weekday availability (even if partial) is preferred but not required. (Note - we have free parking for our employees)
The Game Master responsibilities include but not limited to:
Greeting customers in a personable and friendly manner, making everyone feel excited at being locked in a room for an hour :)
Explaining game rules thoroughly in a fun and engaging way (you must be comfortable talking to large groups of people)
Closely monitoring people over cctv while they play to provide hints as needed.
Resetting the game rooms after each game. Strong attention to detail is a must as all the props and clues must be set in a very specific way every time.
You may also deal with customers over the phone and/or via email asking for questions, directions, etc.
Our ideal applicants are responsible but fun people with good attitude and great problem solving and customer service skills!
Additional skills desired but not required:
Demonstrable experience in customer service.
You are handy person who can fix things ingeniously and make MacGyver proud.
You love games and want to help designing and/or building puzzles and games.
You have electronics knowledge.
Experience building theatrical set or props.
