Warehouse 2nd Shift - Help Wanted (Nashua, NH)

Vacancy expired!

Top rated local HVAC and Plumbing company looking for a 2nd Shift Shop Helper to join our team! Internally, we like to call this position a "Resource Coordinator" or "RC" as we most commonly refer to it.

This position is very important to our daily operations. You would work along side the morning shift RC, along with the closing dispatcher and after hours Service Technician.

In general, you will be responsible for taking over shop duties after the morning shift RC leaves for the day. Things like keeping the shop clean, parking, locking, and fueling our fleet, pressure washing, light grounds duties, part running, and other shop related duties. We have a nice routine which makes the night go by fast. For those who are interested, this can be a stepping stone to an HVAC or Plumbing apprenticeship.

The Day to Day:

We start at 2PM

We work Monday-Friday (no weekends)

Arrive 5-10 minutes early and get settled in, have a coffee, etc.

Meet with the manager to get your daily assignments

Get on the same page about what field tasks are left over from the morning shift

Usually the first few hours consist of running parts to installation teams needing a final item to finish their job

Sometimes you will be staging equipment for next day installations

Other days you could be sent to Costco to get drinks and snacks for the office

From time to time, we get requests to prep items for the installations such as painting plywood, assembling wooden frames for outdoor equipment, and other tasks like that

Once all the installation and service teams return for the day, usually around 5PM, you will follow a routine to make sure each vehicle is cleaned out, fueled up, parked, and locked the same way every night

Once the vehicles are all parked and locked up, you will sign-in the keys and submit your report

After the fleet is taken care of and ready for the next day, you will spend the final hour or so closing down the shop

This would include a final vacuum, fridge stock, empty the trash, lock the dumpster, closets, and lock up with the closing dispatcher and after hours technician

This is a relaxed atmosphere, where you will get to work alone, follow a routine, listen to music and enjoy a stress free work shift

The biggest thing is attention to detail when cleaning the fleet, making sure the trucks looks beautiful for the installation teams in the morning

Room for Growth:

This position will give you experience in the skilled trades.

Although not a requirement, this can be a stepping stone to become an HVAC or Plumbing apprentice - which leads to becoming a lead installer, master plumber, or service technician - running your own truck, your own jobs, with your own dedicated helper.

Depending on an applicants skill level entering an apprenticeship, which apprenticeship you choose, this usually takes 24 - 36 months.

Lead installers are earning $25-$45 per hour, and with OT, bringing in close to 100K annually.

This trade is not for everyone, but for those who take it seriously (eg. get their licenses, build their skills) and do not lose focus on the other side of the trade (eg. soft skills like customer service, proper documentation, and interpersonal relationships amongst your teammates) - this career path can lead to a rewarding life and place in the community.
