Summer 2019 Camp Staff must be available from June 9th through August 25thThe location of this job is Center Sandwich, NH. Camp Hale provides room and board. Established in 1900,ÂCamp HaleÂis aÂsleepaway summer campÂfor Boston-area youth ages 6 to 17 years old to experience a range of outdoor activities in the scenic environment of Squam Lake located in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.ÂCamp Hale transforms youth into resilient leaders as they discover the wonders of nature, build a diverse community, and embrace challenging experiences.ÂThe camp operates on the belief that all youthÂbenefit from opportunities for physical, mental, and social growth and development.ÂThe goal is for campers to leave with an enhanced sense of well-being, improved social skills, and awareness of personal potential. What You’ll Do: The Camp Hale Nurse manages the camp infirmary by providing healthcare to campers and staff Maintain accurate medical records of campers and staff members. Reviews and updates camp health-care policies Train staff in basic first aid and health maintenance during training week and for duration of camp Administer medications and maintain camp infirmary Treat illnesses and accidents of campers and staff Administrative responsibility for filing insurance/claims forms and other related information which includes accurate recording of camp file Develop positive relationships with local healthcare professional and medical facilities Attend staff meetings and update staff on camp health issues Perform other job-related duties as required What We’re looking for: Energy, patience, sensitivity and a love for children and camp Ability to remain organized while working creatively with campers Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in nursing Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience in emergency treatment Knowledge of camp healthcare policy development and experience working with youth also preferred Must have a vehicle and be available mid-June to mid-August. Valid New Hampshire nursing license by first day of Camp.
