GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Certified Medical Assistant (MA) functions in a clinical and administrative support role to assist the health care professional to ensure the delivery of quality health care services. The MA works under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse. The MA reports to the Clinical Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS:
General:
Applicant must be available to and have means to travel as necessary for orientation, training, and for coverage at additional practice sites
CPR certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment
Education:
Minimum: Certified / Registered Medical Assistant, Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse with medical terminology and formal pharmacology
Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations
1. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
2. Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Medical Technologists
3. National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing
4. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association
5. Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) from the National Healthcareer Association
Work Experience:
Minimum: One-year recent, relevant experience
Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of surgical asepsis, Universal Precautions, MDPH and OSHA standards
