Seeking Per Diem LNA for Private Homecare (Rindge, NH)

Vacancy expired!

Our family is seeking a per diem LNA to assist in caring for our loved one who has recently moved to her son's home on hospice care. Gram has care 24/7, however we are looking to hire a person or two to have as backup should unforeseen circumstances arise. There may be advanced planning for prior commitments, and we would always aim to give as much notice as possible for planning ahead. It is important to note that this is not a regularly scheduled shift, but rather on an on call/as needed basis.

A little about our special lady: Gram is 92 1/2 years old and despite being on hospice, she is still very much full of life. She has days that are brighter than others, but for the most part she still enjoys good food and drink, good company and conversation and a good old game of scrabble! Gram has a very large, tight-knit, devoted family that wants to make sure her time, however long, is time well spent.

Gram can be confused at times - she calls it "fuzzy or "cloudy" - in which she needs help putting together the pieces of her life. It's all there, she just needs some gentle prompting and reassurance that she knows it. Her disposition remains mostly pleasant, though she can sometimes view the glass as half empty. Empathic conversation is a large part of the day. Gram is able to ambulate on her own using a rollator walker. She does require monitoring for safety, but she is quite safety conscious on her own. She is continent of bowel and bladder, however does require assistance with personal care (toileting, showering, dressing, etc.). She has her own bedroom on the first floor that has her recliner and TV, but she also enjoys spending time in the living room, dining room, sunroom or out on the pool deck.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: assistance with ADLs, meal preparation, medication administration, maintaining cleanliness of areas used by Gram, conversation and companionship.

We ask that applicants have a current and in good standing LNA license, or significant experience caring for an aging population as an alternative. The role requires significant patience, as well as a positive attitude and creative energy. Applicants must maintain respect and dignity for Gram in all interactions, and have a calm and peaceful demeanor. It would be helpful if applicants have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Please contact us via the Craigslist email. Include your name, some information about yourself and why you may be a good fit for Gram. Please also include your resume and three professional references. We look forward to hearing from you.
