The Quality Technician- Fabrication is responsible for quality assurance for fabrication processes and products. Assuring all products are verified to customer requirements
Responsible for:
- Verifying incoming components
- Conducting source inspections
- Assuring traceability, witnessing testing, checking parts and assemblies conform to prints
- Validating production records, if discrepancy initiating the non-conformance report
- Audits production and escalates any deviations from approved SOP
- Works collaboratively with production and engineering support in root cause investigations
- Issues certificates of compliance and first article reports
- Main POC for customer and DCMA inspection
- Conducts special testing in support of the fabrication design process.
Quality Assurance:
-Model ISO compliance
-Be on front-end of process to ensure processes are accurately followed and recorded
-Making sure project control plans are consistently cascaded into EWRs
-Responsible for EWR process to assure contract requirements are cascaded to manufacturing accurately and validated as product is realized on travelers
-Audit monitoring devices and maintain calibration standards
-Monitors quality and adherence to work instructions, standards and policies
-Complete supplier source inspections
-Complete incoming inspections to controlled drawings
-Complete visual inspections on material as necessary
-Recognize defects, use proper descriptions, link to appropriate parts/sub- assemblies, assure traceability
-Identify, record and report non-conformance conditions
-Manage the non-conforming process insuring that all reports are completed fully with root cause and corrective action.
-Perform root cause analysis generate solutions. Escalate quality issues and correct and/or stop fabrication when necessary
-Identify, recommend and initiate changes to maintain fabrication quality in collaboration with other departments and ensure proper recording/dissemination of information is provided
