The Holiday Inn of Salem, NH is currently seeking a Chief Engineer for our busy 109-room full service hotel! Our guests are our #1 priority and we are dedicated to ensuring their experience is spectacular, from arrival to departure. Job Summary
The Chief Engineer is responsible for supervising hotel maintenance operations and assets to include refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and maintaining top quality standards as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides professional and courteous guest service at all times.
Supervises maintenance operations for the facility to include but not limited to: refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water softeners and treatment, A/C units, ice machines, swimming pools/spa, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency equipment/systems, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, painting, wall covering repairs, etc.
Monitors gas, electric and water consumption on monthly basis
Ensures all projects are completed according to specifications and on time
Collaborates with Executive Housekeeper, Front Office Manager and General Manager to coordinate work
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of guest room electronic locks
Secures and maintains key inventory for all hotel locks
Conducts emergency training and assists with safety training for hotel staff
Aids and instructs craftsmen scheduling work, materials, and project completion
Obtains bids and contracts for landscaping and snow removal
Develops and maintains preventive maintenance program for guestrooms, public space and all equipment
Conducts inventory, purchasing and maintains department budget
Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of work space and storage areas
Acts as Manager On Duty when scheduled
Attends weekly manager meetings
Staffs 7 day/week coverage including on-call status
Chief Engineer is available for on-call and weekend work as required
Ensures building is prepared for semi-annual IHG inspections and city and state inspections
Maintains current status of all permits (elevator, boiler, fire extinguishers, and suppression system etc.)
Additional Duties
Completes projects as determined by General Manager
Actively seeks out other tasks when current work is complete
Participates in ongoing education and training of IHG initiatives as well as Linchris maintenance programs
