Diesel Service Technician - Mobile 2nd Shift
Yaxo Ventures provides fleet management support to our own transportation businesses in New England. The private fleet you will maintain is for companies operating out of several different locations including Quincy MA, Boston MA, Londonderry NH, and Burlington VT. We are looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to service our fleet of vehicles during off hours of 3:00pm-11:00pm as a full-time position.
A company-provided vehicle is outfitted with the necessary equipment for you. All inspections, issues, and work orders are tracked in a fleet management system for organizing and managing the work daily and weekly. Some repairs will be assigned out to a network of vendors. We have a shop in Derry, NH which is home base for more extensive repairs. The Diesel Mechanic position reports to the Fleet Operations Manager, who is also an experienced mechanic.

Full-time position working 2nd shift, 3:00pm to 11:00pm with opportunities to move to 1st shift.
Communicate with fleet management and operations team regarding reported issues and work order repair details.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance on diesel engines and drive trains.
Perform diagnostic tests and inspections on all engine systems.
Repair or replace broken components to restore an engine or vehicle to working condition.
Perform repairs on diesel engines at a worksite or roadside.RESPONSIBILITIES
Extensive travel between various to repair a variety of trucks and vehicles: Vans, FedEx Delivery Trucks & Tractor Trailers
Must have own hand tools however equipment and supplies needed for the job will be provided.
In-depth understanding of diesel engines, as well as mechanics and engineering in general
Analyzing problems with engines and rectifying the same
Good analytical and problem-solving skills to find the source of problems/malfunctions
Ability to work with hand tools, precision, and other equipment.
Carrying out routine service on the engine, including oil and filter changes.
Repairing or replacing faulty parts and systems.
Sometimes integrating new technology into the engine structure.
Rebuilding engines after their efficient lifetime is over.
Conducting performance tests on vehicle fleets, if overseeing their operation.
Preparing and updating records on service work conducted on engines.
Welding and cutting material if required, using tig/mig/stick welding or flame-cutting equipment.
12-volt installation and repair - specifically installing anti-theft, lights, video capture, and GPS devices.
Must have computer skills, as several diagnostic procedures and precision repairs may be carried out with the aid of computers.REQUIREMENTS
MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
Must have a valid driver’s license
CDL Class A License Helpful but not required
DOT Medical Card Helpful but not required
A clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) without excessive speeding tickets, reckless driving, etc.
5 Years of Diesel Mechanic experience are required.
High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree in Automotive Technology or equivalent on the job training preferred, but not required.
Extensive experience working on diesel engines may take the place of additional education.
Certification in diesel technology as a Diesel Mechanic is helpful.APPLY HERE
