Do you want to join our driven sales team where you will get to work with some of the biggest and best brands in FMCG and partner with them to drive their strategy? We are looking for a New Business Development Manager who will focus on driving Nielsen’s business growth.


A LITTLE BIT YOU
This New Business Development role has a particular focus on owning and developing new revenue.
You will be responsible for building a pipeline of revenue through “new clients” and “win back clients” by fully utilising Nielsen’s portfolio of products and core processes whilst developing and maintaining strong relationships with senior client personnel (key decision makers and influencers). You will have a monthly new business target to achieve, which you will forecast weekly to the Head of commercial.


You will be part of a wider Commercial team. Their role is to manage the ongoing revenue contracts. As you progress in this role you will be expected to help support the wider commercial team as you will be the expert in pricing policies, rate cards, and sales material.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Earning Client Trust and Building Relationships:

  • Building and maintaining strong networking and engagement with key players in the FMCG market
  • Leveraging Nielsen’s unique value proposition, proactively building a valuable network both internally and externally

Commercial Operations/Sales Support:

  • Quickly generate a pipeline of revenue
  • Understanding how to price Nielsen's products and the processes we use
  • Become an expert in all things related to pricing, rate cards and sales material
  • Working closely with finance and operations teams to deliver the solution


Understanding Client Needs:

  • Understanding clients businesses and be able to apply Nielsen solutions to meet client needs
  • Identifying client needs and networking with relevant contacts in Nielsen who can develop these issues further with relevant solutions

Solution Knowledge:

  • Familiar with the products from Nielsen portfolio and our tools and systems
  • Always alert and shows a proven interest in the commerciality of our business
  • Identifying opportunities to improve our go-to-market process

Sales Management:

  • Generate PPT sales pitches
  • Expertly pitch the proposal to potential clients and convert any opportunities into a sale
  • Identify and unlock new sales opportunities with clients
  • Manage paperwork financial documentation for approval process
  • Liaise with internal and client stakeholders on billing issues (PO complications, overdue payments etc.)

Sales Negotiation & Process:

  • Solid understanding of and ability to leverage and articulate the steps involved in the Enterprise Selling Process
  • Clearly articulating Nielsen's value proposition and supporting your clients in jointly addressing business priorities

Planning & Forecasting:

  • Responsible for your own revenue targets and communicate updates in the weekly forecasting call
  • Ensuring Internal Account Management files are accurate and up to date i.e. financial targets, proposal submissions, revenue on hand, pipeline etc
  • Use Salesforce.com on a daily basis and ensuring it is up to date and reflects current commercial relationships


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A proven track record in Sales
  • Ideally, have experience selling enterprise-based solutions
  • Effective and resilient negotiator
  • A proven ability to generate business across a portfolio of existing clients
  • An understanding of the issues facing FMCG manufacturer and retailers
  • A high energy self-starter who can work independently
  • Ability to forecast revenue
  • Strong client-facing and communication and presenting skills
  • Passionate about sales, revenue growth and new business opportunities
  • Strong ability understanding of the client’s needs
  • Very strong business English, both verbal and written
  • Strong time management/project management skills
  • Capable of working as part of a team within a fast-paced, challenging and demanding environment whilst maintaining high standards
  • Comfortable working in a digital enabled environment
  • Ideally experience in FMCG sector or equivalent with appreciation of Nielsen products, services and data
