Description:
The Senior Test Development Engineer will be involved in certifying and validating state of the art wireless device technology. This involves work on the latest wireless capabilities and hardware apparatus, and these will be used to apply theory to actual functional/performance verification.
Job Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and validation of new wireless features to ensure appropriate certification coverage by the time the devices or software upgrade is ready for production.
• Track and update tools/systems for test management, progress tracking, issues reporting and metrics development.
• Organize and evaluate test platform performance and consistency studies.
• Investigate and identify new ways to evolve test methodology with the intention to improve device certification accuracy, cost, effort and run times.
• Actively seek and implement efficiencies on test platforms and environments to improve simplicity of operation, automation and overnight production testing.
Qualifications:
Experience
• 6+ years in wireless devices/network equipment development and testing. Solid knowledge in many of the following:
o 5G NR NSA/SA, LTE, RF concepts (Phy/MAC layer, signaling, propagation,
modulations), VoIP/VoLTE, UMTS, GSM, CDMA
o Chipset and handset architecture and OS
o Wireless standards/industry organizations and certification bodies such as 3GPP, GCF,
IEEE, CTIA, ETSI, GSMA, PTCRB.
• 2+ years in wireless device testing in the lab or field. Hands on with test equipment:
o Lab platform integration, system simulator, network emulators (Keysight, R&S,
Anritsu), diagnostic monitors (QXDM, TEMS etc), wireshark, AT/ADB automation
commands.
Other
• Ability to work independently and handle projects simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, collaborative, effective communicator and ability to present and discuss technical analysis with key stakeholders.
• Proficient with Windows PC operating systems and Google suite.
Education
• BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
