RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate and maintain CNC and manual Lathe, Mill, Band Saws, Grinders and other machining equipment.
Measure using Micrometer and Calipers, hand finish the metal parts
Perform routine machine cleaning and maintenance duties and laboratory tests
Be responsible for the work performed; test, check and certify the quality of the work performed
Perform mechanical work (e.g., conveyor bearing and chain replacement, major equipment overhaul, motor/gearbox replacements, valve and pump maintenance, and lube routes)
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment, disassembling and reassembling of machinery, overhaul gearboxes, and replace bearings, bushings, etc
Interpret schematics and equipment manuals
Adhere to shop safety and sanitation requirements
Complete assigned work efficiently and per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Use SOPs to detail corrective and preventive maintenance performed throughout the shift; including searching and issuing parts, documenting equipment issues and entering inspection/measurement points
Review drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
Select appropriate machines and settings for a given task.
Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
Check output for quality assurance.
Identify need for / perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.
Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

High School Diploma or GED
Experience with hand tools
Excellent eye-hand coordination and dexterity
Attention to detail
Pride in workmanship

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Work Environment: When hired as a lab technician at AEIS you will work in a metallurgical testing laboratory. You will get dirty and be exposed to outside weather conditions. We will supply the equipment you need and provide training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires long term standing and perhaps repetitive motions. You must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. You must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. Lifting You will regularly lift/move/shake up to 40 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
0-3 years of experience.
Basic math skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate in English.
