POSITION OPPORTUNITY
The Associate Electropolish Technician performs entry-level Electropolishing Services duties to gain knowledge and understanding of mechanical polishing of vessels and tanks. Associate Electropolish Technicians, at times, work inside the tanks and vessels performing mechanical polishing. Under supervision, Associate Electropolish Technicians work together to complete the process in a safe and expedient manner to prevent unnecessary down time of the customer equipment. Proper calculations and installation of Astro Pak equipment plus vigilant operation of said equipment is necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform Cleaning and Passivation technician duties as needed and directed by a Project Leader and/or Operations Manager Read project documentation to understand procedures for accomplishing project
Ability to drive Astro Pak vehicle(s) to customer sites (i.e. Trucks, Sprinter Vans, etc.)
Ability to drive forklift safely and follow forklift rules
Works with various chemicals including but not limited to: citric, caustic and other hazardous chemicals
Install Astro Pak equipment at job sites with confidence
Collect samples and record results during the proper documentation
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains work area clean to CEO (Clean, Efficient, Organized)/5S Standards
OSHA Certification
Confined Space Certification
Extensive overnight travel (over 80%) by land and/or air
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Competence to comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures
Ability to don proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for different chemical mixing processes
Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Certifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Technical Training or AA Degree preferred.
Related Experience: One (1) year technical training or certification course; two years related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read and understand work instructions, documents, correspondence and memos.
Effective communication skills which include verbal and written in English
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to wear a respirator as needed
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Should be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
LICENSE: Possess a valid class C drivers license and an acceptable driving record.
