a subsidiary of TIAA is looking for a Lead Application Analyst to join its Data
Strategy technology team. The Data Strategy team is comprised of a group of
cross-skilled technology professionals that collaborate across various Nuveen business
units such as Finance, Compliance, Client Services, Product, Trading and
Portfolio Management. This position will partner with business, technology and
operational teams to analyze, interpret, and document business and functional requirements
to solve for complex business problems that align to a multi-year data strategy.
This individual will also work with the development team to ensure technology solutions
are implemented according to business expectations and requirements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Facilitate requirement gathering sessionswith business partners across the organization.
Document business and functional requirements,defining objectives, scope, and risks to align with overall business needsand strategies.
Develop a deep understanding of currentstate by analyzing user workflows and procedures to arrive at a clearvision of needs to optimize the user experience.
Define current state and develop futurestate system as well as business process/data flows that are in alignmentwith business needs.
Partner with the technical lead and developmentteam to ensure delivery meets business requirements.
Perform testing and coordinate with theusers on the execution of user acceptance testing.
Facilitate user sign-off on testingresults.
Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodologyto deliver high-quality software releases on a periodic basis through sprints.
Provide status updates and raiserisks/issues to the project manager as needed.
Serve as initial point of escalation for post-deploymentprocessing and operational issues.
Troubleshoot production support issuespost-deployment and come up with solutions as required.
Research and introduce new emergingtechnologies where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:Required Skills:
An undergraduate degree is required.
12+ years of experience in application implementations in a full SDLCenvironment for a financial services firm.
Experience working with Oracle databases,Data Warehousing or Data Lake.
Preferred Skills:
A post-graduate degree or relevantprofessional qualification (e.g. CFA), or progress towards one, would beviewed favorably.
Thorough familiarity with various Equity,Fixed Income and Derivatives instruments, their calculations and data requirements.
Strong organizational skills and abilityto prioritize work/deliverables.
Solid technology background, including anunderstanding of applications used in financial services.
Excellent communication skills (bothwritten and oral).
Responsive and proactive in answeringquestions.
Works well in a collaborative teamenvironment across multiple locations.
Familiarity with Tableau, OBIEE or otherreporting tools.
Working knowledge of JIRA and/orConfluence.
Understating of Private Debt or Equityinstruments.
