Job Description:

Provide analytical, administrative support within an internal control environment. Responsible for assisting in the execution of the Operational Risk Program for the Line of Business. Assist team in gathering and organizing data that will help track, report and manage internal control gap issues and mitigation plans. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Incumbents typically have up to 2 years of risk management and/or LOB/ECF experience.

Global Markets Operations Technology (GMOT) Business Controls and Process Improvement drives execution of the Bank's Operational Excellence by improving controls around processes as well as improving them and making them more efficient. We promote a strong risk culture, underpinned by a proactive risk management approach. This enables the organization to deliver effectively for our Operations and Business partners as well as clients, thereby supporting our objective to build 'best in class' post-trade capabilities. The GMOT Business Controls and Process Improvement team supports the entire GMOT organization. We work in partnership with each team as we work to understand their processes and work on how to improve them and automate the reporting they may need. The team embraces our corporate values in our day to day interactions, and strive for continuous improvement in pursuit of Operational Excellence.

The Business Control Specialist will support the Senior Business Control Specialists with a variety of tasks related to building workflows and reporting that meets the needs of our internal and external clientele. They will also write process documentation and learn the applications required.

The individual will:

  • Interact with all levels of the organization on a daily basis
  • Work with globally distributed teams to coordinate various types of information and projects
  • Support and guide GMOT leads to take over ownership of report automation and distribution
  • Actively learn about applications used on a continuous basis
  • Build network with Bank of America subject matter experts and join calls to ask questions and increase knowledge
  • Develop subject matter expertise of applications used
  • Develop operational understanding and capability for use of workflow and reporting applications
  • Act as an ambassador for Operational Excellence and Organizational Health
  • Demo applications used to gain support and understanding across GMOT
  • Work on multiple concurrent projects


Required Skills:
  • Quick learner willing to learn as they go
  • Ability to influence and drive collaboration across diverse groups
  • Excels at adapting to changing business needs with ability to balance multiple competing priorities in an extremely dynamic environment
  • Process oriented with keen attention to detail
  • Strong communicator who instills confidence and is able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels
  • Familiarity with the following applications
    • Tableau
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Microsoft SharePoint


  • Ability to analyze data, distill key data points, and effectively present information
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work on multiple concurrent projects
  • Problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
  • Highly organized and motivated self-starter who can deliver results with minimal direction
  • Process oriented with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to proactively build deep relationships with teammates/key partners


Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
