Being a member of Technology Research & Innovation (TRI) group, you will support Internal Technology Research & Innovation (INTRO) group within TRI with the key responsibility of handling numerous technology assessments with senior leadership. You will get to lead the execution and delivery of innovative technology projects, including research and process innovation. You might be needed to lead one or two small internal teams, multi-functional teams, as well as have oversight over external vendor teams to execute and deliver on multiple projects. The role also will also involve focused research exercises in specific technological/business areas, intelligence gathering, providing inputs and researched raw data for white papers, blogs and presentations, developing standards and guidelines (tech selection decision trees, tech stack matrices etc.), managing and arranging area-specific logistics and forums (PPM processes, meetings, town-halls) etc. Another key focus area for this role will be developing new and/or light-weight subsets of existing DTCC processes that allow TRI projects to be launched, onboarded and executed at a fast pace while still meeting the vital compliance and regulatory requirements. The work environment will be fast-paced with results-oriented targets and timelines, involving lean team structures and delivery-oriented approach with very clear and transparent definitions of success and failure. Given the nature of this domain, the role will provide excellent learning opportunities on some of the newer technologies reinventing the business and technological landscapes. The ability to swiftly ramp up on new technologies and turn around those findings into fast-paced delivery will be key to being successful in this role.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end software development projects having solid grasp of SDLC full lifecycle and delivery of software pilots as well as prototypes under strict timeline and budget
• With full accountability for timely within-budget delivery, you are encouraged to wear three hats:
• Technologist: recommend and provide inputs on the choice of appropriate technology stacks, review and assess architecture and software design, work with appropriate internal groups (ITA, TRM, SE etc.) to ensure compliance to standards, provide technical inputs, aid solving problems efforts etc.
• Business analyst: support Business/Product group in requirements analysis, drafting of functional/non-functional specifications, workflows etc. Participate in reviews of business requirements, client onboarding etc.
• Project manager: function as a PM/Scrum Master to build project plans, run day-to-day logistics ensuring on-target progress, help the team navigate internal processes, remove roadblocks, handle PPM processes, and ensure clear and streamlined communication to all internal and external partners as needed.
• Conduct fast-paced vendor assessments including technology due diligence, tech evaluations, assessment of vendor-offered services, tools and platforms, attend presentations and demos etc. Vendor management tasks including vendor onboarding, assessment of RFPs, SOWs, and other contractual paperwork
• Work closely with technology and business groups to stay consistently abreast with emerging technology landscape, keeping a keen eye on new opportunities and disruptions to assess new opportunities, prepare business cases, crafting project estimates, etc. Conduct in-depth research of selected business/technological areas and topics to produce reports and data matrices on a short notice with adventurous timelines
• Develop, formalize and implement processes and ecosystems within TRI that enable rapid prototype development, fast vendor onboarding and speedy compliance/control checks
• Mitigate risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Talents Needed for Success:

• Bachelor's degree required; Masters' preferred and/or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience
• Experience in the Technology industry, preferably related to software development, research or architecture.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in or in-depth knowledge of Fintech technologies (Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics) is a huge plus
• Financial services industry experience is highly preferred
• Experience as a Business Analyst and/or PM is a strong plus
• Good technical foundation with an ability to grasp and ramp up on new technologies at a fast pace is a must-have

About the Team

Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC's mission to support the financial markets.
