Position Overview:

Our cooks will do much of the preparation for the dishes that are served. This includes chopping vegetables, cutting meat, measuring and mixing ingredients, washing and preparing vegetables. Our cooks will also follow recipes, use ovens, grills, meat slicers, monitor food for freshness and safety, maintain a clean kitchen and store ingredients properly. As a cook your job is to prepare premade items for our guests as well as items to order. Cooks will work with Servers, Hosts/Hostesses, IRD Servers and Order Takers to accurately prepare guests orders. They will also be able to work preparing and serving hot items made to order for our guests. Occasionally cooks will be asked to help prepare food for our banquets and events.

Ideal candidate will have a mandatory 3 week probationary period after which a review will determine full onboard status.

The Job:

-Prepare a variety of foods, such as salads, Pizzas, sandwiches, fried and grilled items, Grab and go items

-Stock rotation and the restocking of items

-Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.

-Must stock and rotate food and beverage products.

-Maintain awareness with menu and special items

-Use manual and/or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foods.

-Wash, peel and cut various produce, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving.

-Accurately read and produce orders to the guests specifications.

-Keep records of the quantities of food used.

-Wash dishes, glasses, and tableware properly

-Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils used to prepare food items.

-Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.

-Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.

The People:

-minimum age requirement of 18 years.

-must be ServSafe certified or able to become certified before employment beings.

-understanding all aspects of kitchen operations.

-At least 1 year in functioning kitchen in fast food or Food truck a plus

-Banquet cooking knowledge a plus

-must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and early or late hours when necessary excellent customer service and communication skills.

-Attendance: Adheres to established schedule of work hours. Follows established procedures for early notification to supervisor when unable to report to work.

-Punctuality: Arrives to work at scheduled times and works until authorized to leave.

-Attends all mandatory education/in-service programs and demonstrates understanding of responsibilities through appropriate actions.

-Demonstrates effective communication by utilizing positive verbal and non-verbal skills in all interactions.

-Must be able to work a flexible schedule and extra hours when needed.

The Rest:

-Demonstrates adherence to the resorts safe practice procedures and makes recommendations to improve safety. Reports any unsafe work practice to supervisor.

-utilizes proper body mechanics in performance of responsibilities, as evidenced by supervisors observation and no injury to self or others due to improper work habits.

-Follows proper reporting procedures when injured at work. Is aware of the location of material safety data sheets and refers to them when necessary.

-Always acts in a manner that is in keeping with all local, state & governmental codes and laws and maintains the highest standards of health, sanitation, and cleanliness
