Project Description:
This role is within the Research & Early Development (R&ED) IT Delivery Group and will partner with scientific research teams in R&ED to design, build and maintain modern front ends for scientific research applications.
This is a hands-on role requiring significant knowledge of the front-end technologies.
As a Lead Front End Developer, you will:

  • Create highly reusable JavaScript, HTML and CSS code in support of complex scientific research.
  • Develop new user-facing features using React.js and other front-end frameworks.
  • Connect UX Design to Front End Development by helping create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or other design and prototyping tools.
  • Knowledge and implementation of applications in cloud platform and enterprise-level patterns are expected.
Required:
  • Strong experience in one or more programming languages and remain open to learn new ones.
  • Must have hands on experience in designing, developing and building solutions for a diverse and challenging set of end users.
  • Experience developing with web programming frameworks and libraries.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to think outside the box to come up with innovative ideas.
Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:
  • A broad technical background particularly hands-on building high performance web application
  • Experience with Material Design
  • Experience building Front Ends on top of GraphQL and REST APIs
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
  • Experience using UX Design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.
Other Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or other related technical degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' professional Front End Development experience
  • 2+ years' professional UI/UX experience
  • Experience in Biopharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry is a plus.
