The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will define, analyze and deliver solutions, in partnership with the business groups, that will be the most appropriate and effective for the customers, internal or external, with a focus on Qlik Sense, Business Objects and related BI tools. The role will primarily interface with the Business Community, Enterprise Architecture, PMO and Infrastructure groups to deliver these initiatives.



The role responsibilities include business requirements analysis, solution / dashboard / visualization / report design, data management, program development, unit testing, quality testing, UAT coordination, end-user training and overall day to day issues/support management and system monitoring. This role functions within a matrix organization.

Reporting Structure:
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will report to the Business Intelligence (BI) Lead.

Key Responsibilities


  • Understand, partner and empathize with the customers, internal and external, to deliver the most effective means of delivering information to the end-users.

  • Interact, collaborate, and negotiate with project teams, IT colleagues and business line contacts to integrate activities to meet client needs

  • Identify, define, and deliver in parallel complex programs and projects/enhancements in a matrix environment.

  • Identify and resolve issues related to QlikSense/BO/Info burst and its related tools with business partners and/or project and IT teams

  • Must be technically adept at Qlik Sense/BO development along with the creation/management of QVDs and QVFs

  • Recognize QlikSense/BO/Info burst related risks/issues that need escalation and arrange for appropriate assistance

  • Ensure adherence to the PMO process for managing projects and required deliverables.

  • Participate in regular status meetings with project teams, as led by project analysts

  • Must have the ability to work directly with business users to gather requirements and translate those requirements into technical specifications including process changes and reporting/visualization specifications

  • Aptitude for understanding data and how data from multiple sources interact for consumption of the end-users

  • Can simplify, translate, and explain complex processes / write SQL / Qlik Scripting / formulae

  • Must be a resourceful problem solver who possesses creativity in resolving problems

  • Possess a customer-centric, project-oriented approach to development work

  • Ability to work independently and drive work to completion

  • Ability to prioritize workload, achieve results while meeting project deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to perform quality testing and beta testing of the applications that are delivered.

  • Must be able to analyze and troubleshoot reporting related issues in a timely manner within the standards and best practices of the company

  • Must be able to perform performance tuning and deliver optimal running conditions for the reports


Required Skills


  • College degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

  • 3 plus years of experience in Data warehousing and Business Intelligence/analytics

  • Significant recent experience in the use of QlikSense (Visualization, connectors, data modelling including Qlik Scripting, Geoanalytics, NPrinting)

  • Business Objects experience a plus

  • Knowledge of application development using Oracle database SQL & PL/SQL; SAP BW/HANA experience a plus.

  • Experience working with a large data warehouse a plus

  • Experience in using QlikSense to connect to MSFT Dynamics, HANA, Hive and Hadoop a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and Strong process orientation with significant attention to detail

  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to participate in and lead "Virtual" teams

  • Knowledge of relational databases, data warehousing, business intelligence, and CRM tools

  • Knowledge/experience with Machine Learning / AI a plus

  • This position requires minimal travel on an as-needed basis

  • There are minimal physical requirements for this position
