Our client is currently seeking a HiCap Engineer (Principal Engineer) to support Metro-Ethernet Connectivity Services with a focus on current MEF compliant services. An additional focus will be in Cloud Services and their integration with their Metro-E product suite.
Summary Overview
AWS and Azure Cloud strategy - understanding of cloud products and integration with Metro-E and SDN based services
Experience with cable industry standard practices, interfaces, operating systems, and protocols such as DOCSIS 3.0/3.1, SIP, and PacketCable
Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, IPv6, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, and MPLS, working knowledge of IS-IS
Prior extensive experience surrounding Ethernet and IP Service (Ethernet Private Line, Private LAN, Dedicated Internet, IPVLN, Internet, and Managed Router)
MEF 2.0 and 3.0 understanding and support
BGP experience at an ISP level both Corporate and Customer facing
SME support in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols that support Business Services
OAM, CFM understanding and support
RFC2544, Y.1564 and Y.1731 understanding and support
IPv4 and IPv6 understanding and support
ZTP - Zero Touch Provisioning, conceptual understanding, and support
WAVE Services understanding and support
Engineering position focused on Network Automation, Software Defined Networks and Network Virtualization within the Commercial Services line of business.
Role in evaluating, designing, deploying and supporting large scale SDN/NFV environments.
Engineer will participate in the evaluation, design, trial and deployment of our next generation network (NGN) products and service delivery.
Experience with hands on across a national Metro-E, multi-vendor network is preferred. A background supporting a service provider network is a plus.
Engineer will partner with architecture, BU, service delivery and operations to drive on-going evolution and support of the current platform.
This individual should have strong knowledge and practical hand-on experience on NFV of larger enterprise services (such as IP VPN) and managed services (such as Firewalls), major vendors and trends of virtual CPE, and controllers.
This individual should have practical knowledge of managed services for customer network implementations.
Individual should have practical knowledge of large enterprise and government network implementations in various industries.
Background in design and deployment of complex data networks in the Midsize, Enterprise and Government Sectors highly preferred.
Working knowledge of IPS/IDS (Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems), DDoS, Firewalls and Security event management.
CCNP, JNCIP certification and equivalent working experience
It is desirable to have experiences in NFV Orchestrator and Manager, and Virtualized Infrastructure Manager technologies, market trend and major vendors.
It is desirable to have experiences in NFV MANO standards, architecture, and integrations with OSS systems.
It is desirable to have in the cloud management systems like OpenStack and VMware vCloud, Network management products, OSS products and familiarity with industry standards, specifically ETSI
-Hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment -Design, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services.
-Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues.
-Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards.
Skills:
-8 years + of experience with Cisco and Juniper routers -Knowledge of internetworking designs and their applications and routing -Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies
-8 years + experience with protocols
-Firewall experience with firewalls such as (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG etc.) -Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers -Certifications such as (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
