Job Title: Manager - Data Architect Location: Mount Laurel, NJ The candidate needs to be hands-on with PL/SQL with strong expertise with Data Modelling and Data Integration. He would be primarily responsible for the design and also manage its implementation all the way to production and support. Position Overview:
Technical management of a team of developers specializing in application and analytic data modeling, data architecture, and data integration.
Stay current on a range of technologies including non-relational, cloud-based, and other newer specialized platforms, and monitor suitability for use in Holman environments.
Interact effectively with other IT managers, businesses, and clients to collect requirements, define and deliver solutions and resolve issues.
Provide technical direction to team resources and to extended project teams as required for larger initiatives.
Guide and mentor team members in technical as well as non-technical interactions.
Communicate status on team activities to management chain and business regularly.
Serve as primary contact for this technical area.
Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating operations, applications, and programming.
Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external standards
Conducts database design and architecture reviews.
Design and coordinate the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
Analyze and translate business needs into long-term solution data models.
Work with the development team to create conceptual logical and physical data models and data flows.
Review modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility and development impact assessment.
Evaluate implemented data systems for functional and performance issues and efficiency.
Project timelines and cost estimates for internal business as well as external client work requests.
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and/or Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent work experience
Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.).
Expert knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
Expert knowledge of database structures, systems, and data analysis.
Relevant Work Experience:
3-5+ years’ experience, including 3+ years leading a technical team.
Has breadth and depth of technical or functional expertise in own area of responsibility or department; maybe acquiring knowledge of other related areas of departments.
Experience in design and development of relational databases in support of transactional applications as well as analytic data structures.
Ability to quickly develop expert knowledge of Holman data and data repositories.
Proficiency in building new, and enhancing existing data structures and transformation.
Proficiency in the emerging data platform and processing technologies for future use.
