Description:
Perform installation, configuration, customization, and training for SolarWinds.

Primary areas of expertise included system administration and configuration of NPM, NTA, NCM, FSM, and IPAM to manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. in support of the technology infrastructure specific to the support role of the NOC.
Individual contributor role; fully competent to work under general direction. knowledge of business or function for which application is designed. Integration with ServiceNow and other toolsets preferred.

Essential Functions:
Managing Cisco, Avaya, Aruba, and Extreme Hardware comprised of various Operating Systems monitored in SolarWinds
Conduct new product research in network tools engineering team related to capacity, performance, fault and/or configuration management.
Ensure that current and new tools cover all environments.
Handle tools escalations. Key player to recommend and implement tools
Participate in the configuration management process, which entails reviewing and approving baseline configuration changes, maintaining and developing new configuration compliance validations, insuring 100% device configuration validation coverage, and auditing all Network Configuration Items to insure adherence to configuration compliance validation requirements.

Job Requirements:
Strong Knowledge in the areas of Fault Monitoring, Capacity Management, Configuration Management, and Performance Management within the Network Infrastructure area.
General Network engineering experience
SNMP, Syslog, SSH, TACACS, Experience with Extreme Networks. Cisco, Avaya a plus
Knowledge on the Change Management process.
A strong team player who is accountable towards a support organization as a 2nd level support engineer and act as an escalation point providing onsite and/or remote 24x7
Interface with vendors, Open tickets track to resolution when required

Other Duties
Analyze and report network alerts generated by the monitoring tools
Open / Escalate tickets as per defined severities and a sense of urgency as needed
Act as second line of contact for all Trouble Ticket issues in the NOC
Interface with Carriers, Open tickets track to resolution.
RTTS, XMC, SolarWinds, Footprints, ServiceNow a plus.
